urwithsibs
I have just started using iReport. Here in this forum, I see people post their problem with their JRXML source code. How do you get to see the source code of a report? Or How do you edit /have accesss to the source code of your own report?
svenn
1.Go to the directory were iReport is storing the .JRXML files for your report. 2. Open up the file with any text edit. I use EditPlus but any one will do including MS Notepad.
urwithsibs
Thanks. It worked with notepad. Can you suggest a good editor to edit JRXML file ? Anything free is always good :P .
svenn
No I can't. I only use an editor to look at the JRXML file when I'm debugging certain issues and I need more detail then I can see in the iReport development tool. Ask in the "JasperReports Discussion/Help" forum. I'm sure you'll get a few suggestions there.
codyjasperForge
Google this for a great editor: "TextPad" Another good one is "EditPad Lite" FYI...
jmurray
JEdit is OK too. xml aware, so the layout and markup is nice.
