ngd
Hello, We are currently using our own home-grown reporting framework for our project management software and think JR would make a great replacement. However, there is one major issue... which I am sure given JR's success.. has a nice solution. Our reports are not "static" i.e. the user selects the entity to report on (e.g. Project or Task or Timesheet), then selects columns, the grouping, the sorting and the filter criteria. On submit of the form, we present the results in tabular fashion. As you can see we cannot write an XML file for such a thing. Can this be done? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Teodor Danciu
Hi, You are talking about dynamic report templates which can be created on-the-fly using the JasperReports API like shown in the /demo/samples/noxmldesign sample provided with the project. I hope this helps.Teodor
