Adding Fields in the header section

Hi:

 

We want to give the user the option to add/delete fields to be displayed in the header section of the report. All of this information will be fed into the report as parameters. My question is that whether JasperReports supports

(1) Adding/removing fields to/from the header section

(2) Adjusting the header Band height to accommodate the field addition/deletion

 

I have seen in the forum that this is possible directly via subclassing the JRDesignXX classes but I want to use a feature that is offered by JasperReports.

 

Do I need to make a feature request here?
