subreport not displayed

subreport not displayed

i am trying to get subreport but it is not appearing individually it runs my main report has no data it combines 3 reports is it compulsary to have subreportparameter ant should it be common and should it be from data source

 

please help me

Hi,

 

1. Do you supply a connection or a data source

to your subreport?

<connectionExpression> or <dataSourceExpression>

 

2. Does the master report have a data source of its

own with some records in it?

If not, have you used the "whenNoDataType" attribute in the master report to force the generation

of some report bands even when there are no

records in the data source?

 

3. Where have you placed the subreport?

If you have placed it on the <detail> band of the master report, and the master report has not data, it will never work, because no detail will be generated.
