operator +=

I'm attempting with no success to use operator += in expression $V{totNom}+= $F{NOMGEQ}.

The error is "The left-hand side of an assignment must be a variable"

pointing to $V{totNom}

 

totNom is a variable. Could anyone please tell me how to get this operator to function? ... I'm computing here a sum of the field NOMGEQ.

You have to think about the expression as:

 

New value = expression

 

so:

 

New value = $V{totNom}+= $F{NOMGEQ}

 

makes not sense.

 

The right expression is:

 

New value = new Double( $V{totNom}.doubleValue() + $F{NOMGEQ}.doubleValue() )
