Editing a report from JasperServer repository

Hello,

I have a question concerning the JasperServer Repository Plugin.

When i want do deploy a new Report created with IReport, i use the repository window by right clicking -> add -> JasperServerReport. After that i import my current opened jrxml file, define my data source and so on ...

After the report ist created, i can view/edit him by double clicking the jrxml file in the repository window. But if i click on the jrxml file, iReport only opens a temporary file. If i edit this temporary file, the changes are only made on my harddisk, not in the Server repository.

Is there any way to make the deployment/change of the reports more comfortable?

Best regards,

Michael

I get the impression that the separation of duties between authoring/testing locally vs. deploying to the server is intentional.  You know that once you make an edit in iReport, all you have to do is right click the existing report (the Main.jrxml) in the repository navigator and select "Replace with current document", right?  I think that's pretty convenient already, plus I like making sure that my local copy is up-to-date.
