Aggregation in Time-Series Charts

Hello,

 

is there an way to have a custom time-breakdown in time-series charts ? Say I have a value for each hour, but I want to chart six-hour averages?

 

Or do I have to prepare the data beforehands?

you can create a group with an expression like:

new Integer( $V{REPORT_COUNT}.intValue() / 6 )

This will create a new group every 6 records (I assume you have one record per hour).

Add a variable that calculates the average of your hourly value (calculation type Average, reset type: your group).

Now in your chart dataset, set as increment type: your group. In this way the data collected for the chart is one value for each group. Which value? Well, you should use your variable with the average value for the 6 hours.
