elizam
iReport is no longer being developed and does not work with Java 8. You can upgrade to Jaspersoft Studio or you can use Java 7.http://community.jaspersoft.com/questions/843388/ireport-and-java-8-compatibility

hozawa
One thing beside iReport project now being depreciated. iReport has some bugs and many features are missing compared to the latest Jaspersoft Studio. Since the project is depreciated, bugs won't be fixed and features won't be added. That is, use it at your own risk.
