Updating your instance is basically a three-step process:
| 3. | Import your data into your instance. |
After the upgrade, you will have to re-apply any customizations that you made to the instance outside of the user interface.
| You must be logged in as superuser to upgrade. |
To upgrade your instance:
| 1. | Navigate to Manage > Server Settings. |
| 2. | Click Export from the column on the left. |

| 3. | Name your export data file and select what you want to export. You can choose which roles and users as well as to include access events, audit events, and monitoring events. You can also choose Export everything. |
| 4. | Click the Export button. |
You will see a message telling you that your export succeeded, and your file will be saved to your default download location.
| 5. | Create a new instance that uses the Commercial AMI v2 JRS 5.1. |

| 6. | Log in to your new instance as superuser. |
| 7. | Navigate to Manage > Server Settings. |
| 8. | Click Import from the column on the left. |

| 9. | Click the Choose File button, and select the file you exported in Step 4. |
| 10. | Select the import options you would like. |
| 11. | Click the Import button. |
You will see a message telling you your import succeeded.
| 12. | If you have made any customizations to your instance outside of the user interface, re-apply them now. |
