Thanks for your reply .

I mentioned as list componenent and i am using dataset to get the elements from javaBeanDataSource.

sbut answer have only sum of colunms and not suit for list and dataset. can you please more elabarate

i need to make the dataset veriable as global veriable then only i can do this but how can get the visibility of a veriable in dataset to global veriable.

Create a new Variable with a intuitive name, and edit its params to be like this, considering that your retrieved column is called "value", and it's type is "java.math.BigDecimal":


Variable Class: java.math.BigDecimal,
Calculation: Sum,
Reset Type: Report,
Variable Expression: $F{value},
Initial Value Expression: 0 (or whatever default value you need).
