Ad-hoc and Drag-and-drop approch

 Hi,

I need to produce a report and/or dashboard where user can drag and drop columns and metrics.

I need to have full list of columns from the tables, Once a user drag and drop columns and metrics on the report area, he or she would apply filters.

Since I'm quite new to Jaspesoft, I have realy dificult time to figure it out.

It seems that any report needs a pre-define query and there is no much room for a dynamic ad-hoc queries.

Am I right? Can anybody help me?

The community edition doesn't have ad hoc reporting functionality. You get ad hoc reporting (all the items you mentioned), dashboards and multi-tenancy in the commercial edition of the product. You can download a trial version of the commercial edition, it comes with a 30-day trial license.

I just downloaded the professional version of iReport and did not see any difference.

I still have to have pre-define query in order to create report.

And then, iReport is trying to execute the query prior to creating a report. That defits the porpose of ad-hoc reporting.

Where and in what product can I have drag-and-drop ability and ad-hoc reports?
