mulcamd
Hi,At this time I'm developing reports for a lot of different users around the world who use a Standalone program with a Relational database. This is not a web application, but just a standalone application. At this moment to deploy the reports the users have to install JasperServer, which is a very big package for just showing the reports. It is way overkill. It is like shooting with a canon instead of a gun.Question: could there be a "JasperSoft Studio Viewer". With this I mean a Viewer / runtime version of JasperSoft Studio.Like Word and Word Viewer, Excel and Excel Viewer. The "Viewer" would be a JasperSoft Studio with the preview functionality but without the design functionality. The only thing that should be there would be support of the input controls. So a runtime report viewer which can be simply installed. In the product line of JasperSoft the Viewer could be stepping stone to the JasperServer. People can get used to JasperReports and grow into the advanced JasperServer.Post Edited by mulcamd at 06/14/2011 16:
ernestoo
Hi, take a look at the JasperReports Library, with the samples in the /demo folder there's an ant target called "view" this launches the JasperViewer app (net.sf.jasperreports.view.JasperViewer)They've implemented pagination, zoom and saving in various export formats from the jrprint object. Hope that helps!
