Print queries to console while running in iReport

Is there any way to print the queries being executed when a report is run, while using iReport? This will help in debugging.

I searched for this in the documentation & forum posts but could not find anything.

No there isn't. It would be nice if you could. We debug our SQL outside of iReports they try running it in the report.
