The best way to use JasperServer capabilities ??

Hi,
I'm looking for the best way to use all capabilities JasperServer provides with a PHP web app. The JS webservices has not enough capabilities for my firm to use them. So the point is what is for you the best way?

Extend webservice api or wait for the next.
Use the JS api with a php/java bridge and developt my own gui.
Custom JS gui. (can I do this?)
