How to do add-hack reports?

Hi.

 

One of the requirements of the project I am currently working on is having add-hack reports so users could create new reports right from applet.

 

I wonder if future Jasper Designer will allow doing that and how soon it is going to be available. My project is 1 year long.

 

Does any one implement something similar to what I described using Jasper Reports?

I would appreciate some ideas.

iReport have a wizard to autogenerate reports from db colum ns on a selected table/connection.

You can view the way iReport do it at /src/com/bussinesslogic/ireport/ui/ReportWizardForm.java.

Basically it use some templates, helper classes and MS DOM (personally not recommended) to construct the reports and they looks quite good.

Hi,

 

The promised JasperDesigner has a low priority

these days, knowing that there are already other

GUI tools for JasperReports available.

 

Check with them to know the exact status and

future directions.

 

I have not abandoned the idea, but I cannot promise

you anything.
