2001 JI Open Discussion
By: N Custer - ncuster3 report output in a "grid" 2002-12-03 12:17Is there a way to have a report generate a "grid" appearance (each bit of data going in a cell)? The only way I could think of was to make a rectangle as a background essentially, make it 10x10 say, with black background. Then, make a smaller rectangle 9x9 say, with white background and put text in that rectangle. That would essentially make a 1x1 border around the cell. Any easier way? What I'm striving for can be seen on the tips&tricks page in the dynamic formatting example (forget the color coded stuff, i just want the html-like table look). thanks, Nathan By: Teodor Danciu - teodord RE: report output in a "grid" 2002-12-07 02:29 Hi, You have to create the grid yourself, because text elements do not have a border. You could create a rectangle for each text element, with the same position and size, put them both in an element group of their own and use stretchType="RelativeToTallestObject" and iPrintWhenDetailOverflows="true" for the rectangle. I hope this helps. Teodor By: N Custer - ncuster3 RE: report output in a "grid" 2002-12-09 10:49Thanks for the help, I'll give that a go.
