The $X parameter does not work in single select queries JasperReports Server 8.0.0

I have the following:

<parameter name="NOM_PROD" class="java.util.Collection"><defaultValueExpression><![CDATA[""]]></defaultValueExpression></parameter>

and in the sql I have:

$X{IN,IIM.IDESC, NOM_PROD}

When I use this with a multiple selection query it works fine, but when it comes to a single selection it doesn't, why is that?

If you mean single select input controls then they return a single value and cannot be a collection type ($X), rather the $P be used.
