Hi everyone!
I have a problem, I have a detail band (one) where there are some fields with height 1px. These fields have also "print when" so some fields are hidden.
When I switch in preview mode (java or pdf), the detail height expands over the components height, so I have the detail band that has a empty white space, like the image.
All the fields are in Position Type: float
This guy posted some years ago the same problem, without success replies.

You might look at frames, they can now expand and collapse vertically. I don't know if they will work for your case.
