Reporting against a Splunk database

Has anyone ever used Jasper Reports and Jasper Reports Server to report from Splunk? How do you connect to the database and database method?

 

Interested to hear from people who have done/doing this please?

There could be multiple ways of doing so. One of them is you could use Apache Spark, so jaspersoft will connect to Spark which in turn will connect to Splunk.
For one of our client implementation We had used thrift server of Spark. We had provided two different options. In first thrift was connecting to the database for reporting purpose. In second use case the data was going into inmemory of Apache Spark into which thrift server was connecting for reporting purposes.
