  1. Hello I have looked very long to try and find a solution but could not. How can I safely/securely access my JasperReports Server (Community version) from the internet (WAN) without having to use a tunnel APP or adjust a router. My JasperReports Server is loaded on a cloud server. thanks Tony
  2. Hello I receive the following error when trying to re-install Jasperreport Server. "There has been an error running C:xamppwebappsjrs/postgresql/bin/registerservice.bat: The system cannot find the file cmd. The application will exit now." Not sure if it matters.... the slashes in the above path are both forward and backward. Also, the postgresql directory seems to dissappear when I am trying to install jasperreport server. One minute it is there and the next it is deleted automatically. thank you for your help. Tony
  3. I have solved the issue. I had to remove the jasperserver parameter and reattach it to the report and this seemed to remove the upload error. thanks Tony
  4. Hello I am receiving a java.lang.NullPointerException when uploading to JasperServer but I do not know how to interpret it. thank you Tony at com.fasterxml.jackson.core.JsonFactory.createParser(JsonFactory.java:889) at com.fasterxml.jackson.databind.ObjectMapper.readValue(ObjectMapper.java:2992) at com.jaspersoft.studio.server.publish.imp.ImpInputControls.setupQuery(ImpInputControls.java:194) at com.jaspersoft.studio.server.publish.imp.ImpInputControls.publish(ImpInputControls.java:117) at com.jaspersoft.studio.server.publish.JrxmlPublishContributor.publishParameters(JrxmlPublishContributor.java:91) at com.jaspersoft.studio.server.publish.JrxmlPublishContributor.publishJrxml(JrxmlPublishContributor.java:86) at com.jaspersoft.studio.server.publish.FindResources.findResources(FindResources.java:99) at com.jaspersoft.studio.server.publish.FindResources.find(FindResources.java:41) at com.jaspersoft.studio.server.publish.wizard.Publish2ServerWizard$2.run(Publish2ServerWizard.java:259) at org.eclipse.jface.operation.ModalContext.runInCurrentThread(ModalContext.java:437) at org.eclipse.jface.operation.ModalContext.run(ModalContext.java:353) at org.eclipse.jface.wizard.WizardDialog.run(WizardDialog.java:980) at com.jaspersoft.studio.server.publish.wizard.Publish2ServerWizard.doFindDependentResources(Publish2ServerWizard.java:255) at com.jaspersoft.studio.server.publish.wizard.Publish2ServerWizard$1$1.run(Publish2ServerWizard.java:205) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.RunnableLock.run(RunnableLock.java:37) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Synchronizer.runAsyncMessages(Synchronizer.java:182) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.runAsyncMessages(Display.java:4213) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.readAndDispatch(Display.java:3820) at org.eclipse.jface.window.Window.runEventLoop(Window.java:818)at org.eclipse.jface.window.Window.open(Window.java:794) at com.jaspersoft.studio.server.publish.action.JrxmlPublishAction.publishReportUnit(JrxmlPublishAction.java:132) at com.jaspersoft.studio.server.publish.action.JrxmlPublishAction$2.run(JrxmlPublishAction.java:94) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.PendingSyncExec.run(PendingSyncExec.java:58) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.UILockListener.doPendingWork(UILockListener.java:168) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.UISynchronizer.lambda$0(UISynchronizer.java:150) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.RunnableLock.run(RunnableLock.java:37) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Synchronizer.runAsyncMessages(Synchronizer.java:182) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.runAsyncMessages(Display.java:4213) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.readAndDispatch(Display.java:3820) at org.eclipse.e4.ui.internal.workbench.swt.PartRenderingEngine$5.run(PartRenderingEngine.java:1150) at org.eclipse.core.databinding.observable.Realm.runWithDefault(Realm.java:336) at org.eclipse.e4.ui.internal.workbench.swt.PartRenderingEngine.run(PartRenderingEngine.java:1039) at org.eclipse.e4.ui.internal.workbench.E4Workbench.createAndRunUI(E4Workbench.java:153) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.Workbench.lambda$3(Workbench.java:680) at org.eclipse.core.databinding.observable.Realm.runWithDefault(Realm.java:336) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.Workbench.createAndRunWorkbench(Workbench.java:594) at org.eclipse.ui.PlatformUI.createAndRunWorkbench(PlatformUI.java:148) at com.jaspersoft.studio.rcp.intro.Application.start(Application.java:91) at org.eclipse.equinox.internal.app.EclipseAppHandle.run(EclipseAppHandle.java:196) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.internal.adaptor.EclipseAppLauncher.runApplication(EclipseAppLauncher.java:134) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.internal.adaptor.EclipseAppLauncher.start(EclipseAppLauncher.java:104) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.adaptor.EclipseStarter.run(EclipseStarter.java:388) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.adaptor.EclipseStarter.run(EclipseStarter.java:243) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:62) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:43) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:498) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.invokeFramework(Main.java:653) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.basicRun(Main.java:590) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.run(Main.java:1499)
  5. update ....... I solved this. I didn't need the java.util.collection(s) to make this parameter work as a drop down list. thank you Tony
  6. Hello I am trying to create a single select parameter drop-down list (input box) where the values for the parameter drop down list are populated by values from a database field and/or query. Every example I see for a tutorial on this subject, tells me to use the java.util.collection class for the paramter. When I try and select the java.util.collections class from the parameter advanced properties definition, it is not listed. Do I need the java.util.collections class to make a parameter (input box) drop down list work or is it not required now? If I need it, where do I get it and how to load it so that it appears in the parameter class selection. thank you Tony
