1. I gave default values ( dummy values ) to the parameters that are associated with input controls. <parameter name="Id" class="java.lang.String" evaluationTime="Early"> <property name="net.sf.jasperreports.http.data.url.parameter" value="gId"/> <defaultValueExpression>"DEFAULT_ID"</defaultValueExpression> </parameter> <parameter name="userName" class="java.lang.String" evaluationTime="Early"> <property name="net.sf.jasperreports.http.data.url.parameter" value="userName"/> <defaultValueExpression>"DEFAULT_U_NAME"</defaultValueExpression> </parameter> And when it hits the REST service, the first thing I do is to check the dummy values and return an HTTP status 200 (anything other than 200 you get an exeption). Now you will see the Inpur Controls window, you replace the default (dummy) values with your test data and run. Note: I write the REST services by myself in my case. If you do not have control over the REST, you will have to write one and do the checks and then call the actual REST sevice.
 2. Can you wrapping the key isDone in double quotes and see if it works. "parameters":{ "parameterValues":{ "isDone":"true" } }
 3. Are you able to resolve this issue. Its not causing an issue but I see it in the logs everytime do someting with scheduling the reports.
 4. I tried to schedule a report with rest v2 on JRS 7.1.1 1. url: http://127.0.0.1:8083/jasperserver/rest_v2/jobs 2. body : { "id":null, "version":null, "username":null, "label":"My Report", "description":"Scheduling a report", "creationDate":null, "baseOutputFilename":"ScheduledTestReport", "outputLocale":null, "repositoryDestination":{ "folderURI":null, "id":null, "outputDescription":null, "overwriteFiles":null, "sequentialFilenames":null, "version":null, "timestampPattern":null, "saveToRepository":null, "defaultReportOutputFolderURI":null, "usingDefaultReportOutputFolderURI":null, "outputLocalFolder":null, "outputFTPInfo":null }, "mailNotification":{ "bccAddresses":null, "ccAddresses":null, "toAddresses":{ "address":[ "foo@foo.com" ] }, "version":null, "id":102, "includingStackTraceWhenJobFails":true, "messageText":"Report has been successfully run and attached.", "resultSendType":"SEND_ATTACHMENT_ZIP_ALL", "skipEmptyReports":null, "skipNotificationWhenJobFails":null, "subject":"My Report", "messageTextWhenJobFails":"Reports recevied an Error" }, "source":{ "reportUnitURI":"/reports/MyReports/reports/sample/orgsample/finReport", "parameters":{ "parameterValues":{ "id":[ "105" ], "User_Id":[ "FOO" ] } } }, "outputFormats":{ "outputFormat":[ "PDF" ] }, "trigger":{ "simpleTrigger":{ "id":null, "version":null, "timezone":null, "calendarName":null, "startType":2, "startDate":"2019-06-27 14:32", "endDate":null, "misfireInstruction":null, "occurrenceCount":1, "recurrenceInterval":null, "recurrenceIntervalUnit":null } }, "outputTimeZone":null } 3. Headers : content-type: application/job+json accept: application/job+json X-HTTP-Method-Override: PUT authorization: Basic ........(using the admin username and password for authentication) and response: { "error": [ { "errorCode": "error.not.empty", "defaultMessage": "The value cannot be empty", "field": "contentRepositoryDestination.folderURI" }], } The same request works with JRS 6.4.0 and the job is getting scheduled with no issues.
 5. I am facing the same issue while using 7.1.1. Are you able to fix it ?
 6. 1. I created a server attribute with name 'env_url' and value ="http://......." 2. I want to use this in the JSON data adapter. Is it possible to pass a server attribute like below to a JSON data adapter ? <jsonDataAdapter class="net.sf.jasperreports.data.json.JsonDataAdapterImpl">
<dataFile xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:type="httpDataLocation">
<method>GET</method>

<value>application/json;charset=utf-8</value>

<value>application/json;charset=utf-8</value>
<urlParameter> ...... I get : net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRRuntimeException: net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRException: Error opening input stream from URL: repo:/reports/dataadapter/myJsonDataAdapter.xml. at net.sf.jasperreports.repo.DefaultRepositoryService.getInputStream(DefaultRepositoryService.java:116) at net.sf.jasperreports.repo.InputStreamPersistenceService.load(InputStreamPersistenceService.java:45) at net.sf.jasperreports.repo.DefaultRepositoryService.getResource(DefaultRepositoryService.java:149) . . . . The data source url changes per environment (dev, qa, prod), so I would like it dynamically set. I am trying achieve it with server attributes (I may have a jasper server instance running per environment). Any other suggestions are appreciated.
 7. I do not about SSRS and I am also learning jasper. So, with the inforamtion you gave: 1 . Check your jasper server logs for more informatin. 2. The error says "serialization.error" that means you are sending wrong data to your report. What are the input controls (PARAM 2, PARAM 1) for the report "NEW ACCOUNT", are you able to run this report directly from jasper server UI ? Coming to your question on postman: How to call the report (i believe login is needed, how to tie the login before calling the report) service to execute a rerport - to tie the login in POSTMAN: 1. In the url field paste your server url to reportexecution: http://MYSERVER:8080/jasperserver-pro/rest_v2/reportExecutions 2. Select the method to "POST" 3. In the authorization tab , select basic auth, enter user name and password 4. In the headers tab, you may add: Key Value Content-Type application/xml Accept application/xml X-REMOTE-DOMAIN 1 note: X-REMOTE-DOMAIN 1 may not be necessary, but try adding it if you get any error. 5. In the body tab, paste your request (xml) example: <reportExecutionRequest> <reportUnitUri>/reports/interactive/CustomersReport</reportUnitUri> <async>true</async> <freshData>false</freshData> <saveDataSnapshot>false</saveDataSnapshot> <outputFormat>html</outputFormat> <interactive>true</interactive> <ignorePagination>false</ignorePagination> <pages>1-5</pages> </reportExecutionRequest> 6. Send response should be somthing like : <reportExecution> <exports> <export>
<status>queued</status> </export> </exports> <reportURI>/reports/interactive/CustomersReport</reportURI> <requestId>04e91a83-e9ca-4629-bca9-6e5028f5f6be</requestId> <status>queued</status> </reportExecution> and then work with export Id and request id and follow : https://community.jaspersoft.com/documentation/tibco-jasperreports-server-rest-api-reference/v630/reportexecutions-service
 8. Ok.It was my mistake while creating the report parameter map. So by changing the follwing code from : reportParamsMap.put("paramA", "2012"); reportParamsMap.put("paramB", "xyz"); to reportParamsMap.put("paramA", new String[]{"2012"}); reportParamsMap.put("paramB", new String[]{"xyz"}); // you can set list of strings too resolved my problem.
 9. I have a report with some required parameters(paramA="default_a", paramB="default_b") with default values, it works as expected when I run it from jasper server UI or by using jasper rest client (https://github.com/Jaspersoft/jrs-rest-java-client). While scheduling this report I am supplying the parameters (paramA="2012", paramB="xyz") using the rest client like below : Job job = new Job(); JobSource s = new JobSource(); Map<String, Object> reportParamsMap = new HashMap<String, Object>(); reportParamsMap.put("paramA", "2012"); reportParamsMap.put("paramB", "xyz"); s.setParameters(reportParamsMap); job.setSource(s); ..... set other job fileds (label, description, outputforamts etc ). OperationResult<Job> result = session.jobsService().scheduleReport(job); and my json that was sent to http://localhost:8080/jasperserver/rest_v2/jobs is { "id":null, "version":null, "username":null, "label":"MyReport", "description":"Scheduling my report to run daily", "creationDate":null, "baseOutputFilename":"MyReport_UserID_1546020148418", "outputLocale":null, "repositoryDestination":{ "folderURI":"/reports/Test", "id":null, "outputDescription":null, "overwriteFiles":null, "sequentialFilenames":null, "version":null, "timestampPattern":null, "saveToRepository":null, "defaultReportOutputFolderURI":null, "usingDefaultReportOutputFolderURI":null, "outputLocalFolder":"/reports/Test", "outputFTPInfo":null }, "source":{ "reportUnitURI":"/reports/Test/MyReport", "parameters":{ "parameterValues":{ "paramA":"2012", "paramB":"xyz" } } }, "outputFormats":{ "outputFormat":[ "PDF" ] }, "trigger":{ "simpleTrigger":{ "id":null, "version":null, "timezone":null, "calendarName":null, "startType":2, "startDate":"2018-12-28 12:02", "endDate":null, "misfireInstruction":null, "occurrenceCount":1, "recurrenceInterval":0, "recurrenceIntervalUnit":"DAY" } }, "outputTimeZone":null } And I get : 2 < 400 2 < Connection: close 2 < Content-Length: 279 2 < Content-Type: application/errorDescriptor+json 2 < Date: Fri, 28 Dec 2018 19:37:39 GMT 2 < P3P: CP="ALL" 2 < X-XSS-Protection: 1; mode=block {"message":"There was an error on the server. When I do not set the parameters to the job source like ( s.setParameters(reportParamsMap); ), the scheduler creates the job but with the default parameters which is pointless in my case. for URL - No ERROR, if not - produced ERROR as described in Step 3) first , then prompts with parameters. I enter the parameters for the URL, BODY and run it , it hits the URL again (this is expected). So why does the report hits the URL twice (should not happen)
