Deployment at customer site

Our organisation is undertaking a project to replace our current report engine with the Jaspersoft equivalent. At present our end users have access to a design studio which allows them to create/modify and deploy reports without our involvement. Is a similar model possible using Jaspersoft ? Or is it better to keep all report modification in-house ? Any advice/guidance would be much appreciated. Regards, AC
