  1. I still need help with this. I'm using Jasper Studio 6.11 and I have created sort fields. The Designer doesn't let me drag them anywhere, and simply adding them as described below, doesn't make the column headers clickable. I've been looking all over the internet and can't find this feature! Is it only in the commercial verison or something? I'm using Jasper Studio Community.
  2. Should I have a Jasper Studio "Project" for every report I make? Right now I have about 10 reports in one project. They don't relate to eachother in any way other than they share Data Adapters.
  3. I am querying an Intersystems Cache database. v1.VisitTypeSubTypeID -> Name like 'KRCC%'[/code]I have a query that runs fine when using DBeaver and Eclipse Neon. I use JDBC connections for these tools as well. The query I am running uses an implicit join. When I try to run the query in JasperReports Studio 6.3 it complains about the implicit join syntax of -> (see example above). As I mentioned, this query runs fine in other tools that use the same JDBC drivers. The error message that JasperStudio provides is as follows:
  4. How do I embed a static URL link to the heading of my jasper reports so that when I click the company logo (or text) at the top of every HTML report, it will open our website in a browser and take me to my company home page. I am using Jasper Report Studio 6.2.1 and hosting the reports on Jasper Server 6.2.1
  5. I installed the latest version of Jasper Server and had it running fine. The ONLY change I made was to the following file. Jaspersoftjasperreports-server-cp-6.2.1apache-tomcatwebappsjasperserverWEB-INFjs.quartz.properties file Now, I can't seem to start the apache tomcat server. I have restored the properties file to its original state, and rebooted the server, and it still won't start. I havne't done anything else to the server yet, it's a brand new windows 2012 server and this and JRE 7 are the only software I've put on it. Here is the error log details. I don't know why, but the logs aren't even being populated anymore. The last entry in the logs are from yesterday, and I have tried running them again today. The logs in Jaspersoftjasperreports-server-cp-6.2.1.1apache-tomcatlogs are also empty. Any ideas where I can troubleshoot? 2016-04-14 13:57:14,357 ERROR ContextLoader,localhost-startStop-1:331 - Context initialization failedorg.springframework.beans.factory.BeanDefinitionStoreException: Invalid bean definition with name 'mailSenderService' defined in ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml]: Could not resolve placeholder 'report.scheduler.mail.sender.username' in string value "${report.scheduler.mail.sender.username}"; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Could not resolve placeholder 'report.scheduler.mail.sender.username' in string value "${report.scheduler.mail.sender.username}"at org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PlaceholderConfigurerSupport.doProcessProperties(PlaceholderConfigurerSupport.java:209)at org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer.processProperties(PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer.java:223)at org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyResourceConfigurer.postProcessBeanFactory(PropertyResourceConfigurer.java:84)at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext.invokeBeanFactoryPostProcessors(AbstractApplicationContext.java:696)at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext.invokeBeanFactoryPostProcessors(AbstractApplicationContext.java:671)at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext.refresh(AbstractApplicationContext.java:461)at org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader.configureAndRefreshWebApplicationContext(ContextLoader.java:410)at org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader.initWebApplicationContext(ContextLoader.java:306)at org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener.contextInitialized(ContextLoaderListener.java:112)at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext.listenerStart(StandardContext.java:4797)at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext.startInternal(StandardContext.java:5221)at org.apache.catalina.util.LifecycleBase.start(LifecycleBase.java:150)at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.addChildInternal(ContainerBase.java:724)at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.addChild(ContainerBase.java:700)at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHost.addChild(StandardHost.java:714)at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.deployDirectory(HostConfig.java:1071)at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig$DeployDirectory.run(HostConfig.java:1721)at java.util.concurrent.Executors$RunnableAdapter.call(Unknown Source)at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask.run(Unknown Source)at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.runWorker(Unknown Source)at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(Unknown Source)at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Could not resolve placeholder 'report.scheduler.mail.sender.username' in string value "${report.scheduler.mail.sender.username}"at org.springframework.util.PropertyPlaceholderHelper.parseStringValue(PropertyPlaceholderHelper.java:173)at org.springframework.util.PropertyPlaceholderHelper.replacePlaceholders(PropertyPlaceholderHelper.java:125)at org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer$PlaceholderResolvingStringValueResolver.resolveStringValue(PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer.java:258)at org.springframework.beans.factory.config.BeanDefinitionVisitor.resolveStringValue(BeanDefinitionVisitor.java:282)at org.springframework.beans.factory.config.BeanDefinitionVisitor.resolveValue(BeanDefinitionVisitor.java:204)at org.springframework.beans.factory.config.BeanDefinitionVisitor.visitPropertyValues(BeanDefinitionVisitor.java:141)at org.springframework.beans.factory.config.BeanDefinitionVisitor.visitBeanDefinition(BeanDefinitionVisitor.java:82)at org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PlaceholderConfigurerSupport.doProcessProperties(PlaceholderConfigurerSupport.java:206)... 21 more2016-04-14 13:57:14,388 ERROR JNDIResourceProvider,localhost-startStop-1:75 - 6. cachedb.jar is not the proper JDBC connection driver. The correct one is cachejdbc.jar. Once I tried to connect with that driver, it worked fine.
  7. I am trying to set up a new JDBC connection to an Intersystems Cache data source, and I'm struggling to know if it can even be done. Since there was no Intersystems Cache option in the JDBC driver drop down, I added the driver string manually -> com.intersys.jdbc.CacheDriver I then added the URL manually in the following format -> jdbc:Cache://123.123.123.123:12345/namespace I also found the JDBC driver and have added it to the Jar File Path -> cachedb.jar Based on the error message, I am wondering if it's even possible to connect to intersystems databases with the JDBC connector. What do you think? When I try to connect, I get the following error: Exception, if you want to see more information look into the details. Reason: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.intersys.jdbc.CacheDriver cannot be found by net.sf.jasperreports_6.2.1.final The Details: net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRRuntimeException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.intersys.jdbc.CacheDriver cannot be found by net.sf.jasperreports_6.2.1.final at net.sf.jasperreports.data.jdbc.JdbcDataAdapterService.getConnection(JdbcDataAdapterService.java:173)at net.sf.jasperreports.data.jdbc.JdbcDataAdapterService.contributeParameters(JdbcDataAdapterService.java:128)at net.sf.jasperreports.data.AbstractDataAdapterService.test(AbstractDataAdapterService.java:128)at com.jaspersoft.studio.data.wizard.AbstractDataAdapterWizard$3.runOperations(AbstractDataAdapterWizard.java:162)at com.jaspersoft.studio.utils.jobs.CheckedRunnableWithProgress$1.run(CheckedRunnableWithProgress.java:59)at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:745)Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.intersys.jdbc.CacheDriver cannot be found by net.sf.jasperreports_6.2.1.finalat org.eclipse.osgi.internal.loader.BundleLoader.findClassInternal(BundleLoader.java:439)at org.eclipse.osgi.internal.loader.BundleLoader.findClass(BundleLoader.java:352)at org.eclipse.osgi.internal.loader.BundleLoader.findClass(BundleLoader.java:344)at org.eclipse.osgi.internal.loader.ModuleClassLoader.loadClass(ModuleClassLoader.java:160)at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:357)at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method)at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:348)at net.sf.jasperreports.engine.util.JRClassLoader.loadClassForRealName(JRClassLoader.java:174)at net.sf.jasperreports.data.jdbc.JdbcDataAdapterService.getConnection(JdbcDataAdapterService.java:145)... 5 more
  8. The data source works fine. I can run the report both locally and remotely if I don't use a datetime picker to specify date parameters in the query manually. When I switch to using a date time picker, the report runs locally, but not remotely. I am using the same driver on the server as I am locally.
  9. I have a report that I created locally on my PC, it runs fine locally. When I upload it to the server and try to run it there using the web app, I get the following error message. I'm not sure how to resolve it. Error MessageAn error has occurred. Please contact your system administrator. 10. @Javier.ggi90, I have already set that property as well. The row still show s up. The column reads "null" though, so maybe jasper doesn't actually think it's null.... I think the ruery I run for this report is passing a string of "null". How can I resolve that?
  11. How do I remove an entire row when one column is null? My table has ID, info1, info2, info3, total(sum of 1,2,3) ID will always have a value, but when the total column is null, I want the entire row to be hidden. I have tried setting "Blank when NULL" on the total cell, but that only hides the one cell... I want to hide the entire row when total cell is null.
  12. Hi, I have been struggling to connect jasper reports to my SQL Server 2008. I've tried a few different drivers, and it appears I'm able to connect, but it always complains about my user ID, or security. I know I can connect with these credentials as I use SSMS all the time with them. I've tried doing a few things, like adding our domain to the server in the connection string, or prefixing my user id with domainusername. I made a video: youtu.be/nPfJXYo6q9U This video shows the strange behaviour while I try to create a data source, then a report. You'll see at 1:12 the new data source connection is successful. But when I try to create a new report and use that data source, it then complains that it's not set up to use integrated security... then why did it connect in the first place? I have added the sqljdbc_auth.dll file to every JRE and JDK BIN and LIB folder on my computer to be safe. I started with the 64 bit auth dll, since that's the version of Java I am running, and then just for kicks, I tried the 32 bit auth dll. Neither worked. I have no idea what else I can do... but I'm very frustrated that I can't connect to SQL Server. I've been able to connect to Oracle, and Sybase without any problems, or special configurations. Just point to the JDBC driver jar file, and create your connection string. Why is SQL Server so different for me?
  13. The comments in the following link were the issue I had. https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/psssql/2015/01/09/jdbc-this-driver-is-not-configured-for-integrated-authentication/#comment-3042 When you install the JDBC driver for the first time you have to copy this file /Program Files/Microsoft JDBC Driver 4.0 for SQL Serversqljdbc_4.0/enu/auth/x64/sqljdbc_auth.dll to the Java Run Time Environment bin folder C:Program FilesJavajre7bin then later if you upgrade your java to a higher version, you have to copy the file again and so on.

I've tried doing a few things, like adding our domain to the server in the connection string, or prefixing my user id with domainusername. It still tells me "login failed for user 'me'" I've tried net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver and com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver I made sure that the proper driver is set in the classpath. (if they weren't we wouldn't see it even connect, let alone tell me my user failed) Is there a setting that I have to have enabled on my SQL Server to allow JDBC connections? 15. The answer below did it. I didn't realize auditing wasn't available in community version.
