I ended up getting it working. I tried a few things but I think the solution was that I had to use JRE 5.7 instead of 5.8 and that i had to use the 32 bit verison (not the 64 bit despite my computer being 64 bit). Thanks for the replies

Hi, I've just installed Ireport (after installign JRE) and it will not open. the splash screen shows up for a few seconds then disappears and nothing more happens. How do I get the program to run?
