I am looking for a solution too. But there are two ways you can try doing this, if you want to customize the parameters in the embedded report then you need to use visualize and call the input controls.

I upgraded the Jasper server from v6.0.1 to v6.1, all my reports which have SQL queries associcated with them are now crashing with the following error:

My SQL query is as follows:

How do I change the SQL query to run the report successfully. Can anyone please give me any pointers.

[Ad Hoc reports hyperlink/URL to external application]

 

I was able to give hyperlink to external website for columns inreports by editing the jrxml file. But can I acheieve the same thing in ad hoc views or reports created from ad hoc views without updating jrxml file. Is it possible to add a template while creating the report from the ad hoc view. Is it possible to format the data in such a way this is possible.

For Error Logging, login as superuser and go to server settings-->Log settings. You can change the logging to Debug for various things here.

Change this to <constructor-arg index="0"><value>dc=my,dc=cha,dc=jm</value></constructor-arg>

The syntax you have seems correct, directly query your active directory using ADexplorer or something, see if your configuration values are correct.

If that doesnt work, let me know, I will compare my config.

After embedding the Jasper reports using Visualize JS, is it possible to toggle the input controls and export options on.

Yes I know I can pass parameters directly,but I need the users to apply their own input controls and export options. I guess the work around exists for me to setup my own controls and passing as parameters and also setting up web services for export options.

But is it possible directly from Visualize without going through all this. If this feature is going to come in the future versions, can I please get a tentative date.

You can use row level security to achieve the thing you are trying to do.

In the security file for the domian, for row level security, you could do something like below; if there is a column for Logged In username in your domain tables

If the logic is more complicated than this, then you have to write a custom groovy function and pass the LoggedInUsername as parameter like below

I have an ad hoc view which has two columns one with the title and second one with URL which links to an external data. How do I make the title as clickable hyperlink with the URL in the second column. I am getting the data from a domain.

I was able to edit the jrxml file for the report and update it suitably but how do I achive the same in an ad hoc view.

Yeah I saw that, I tried doing that, few of the filters work fine without any issue. But I am trying to put extra input controls like radio buttons and checkbox and things like that.  No matter what parameter name I give the input controls doesnt work.

I developed a  new Ad Hoc view and a subsequent report from it, the report is generating the data from the domain without any issue.

But I am having trouble adding input controls to the report without editing the jrxml for the report. Is it even possible to do it.

I tried to copy the parameter name from the jrxml of the report as the parameter name for the input control but that didn’t seem to work.
