Thanks sanbez for ur reply. But i trield the same thing which u have written.but it was not working.but retrieving value is number in the form of string , if we specify the cell detect type true,it will detect only what is actual field type ,that only it will display.

hai, while exporting from jasper print to excel format. The field which is in string from jrxml is displaying as a string in exel. is there any way to display that field in number to exel? or any way to convert that field to number at the exporting time?

Hai, My requirement : I need to print the date format in jasper print,pdf,excel like 01-Sun or 01-Sunday. if we use the pattern dd-E in jrxml designtime it will display the required result in both jasper print and pdf but in excel it is showing as garbage values, ie, the custom pattern for my requirement supported by the excel is dd-ddd Is there any solution to get the date in required format in all prints?
