It has now been 5 years - I am using 5.5 and I ran into this issue today - still no solution from Jasper?

Hi all, I have some columns in a report that need to be hidden based on a condition - it is basically a timesheet display that can have up to 18 days in a period. Normally a period is 7 days so I hide columns/fields based on number of days data available. This works fine when I preview in Excel from iReports. But when I deploy this to my app, the empty columns/fields show up as one blank column. Have you seen behaviour like this? The app is a report service that has a Jasper report engine (as well as BIRT) - it takes streamed xml data and a .jasper file and generates a report - PDF or Excel depending on what the user requires. Has anyone seen differing behaviour like this? TIA, Vishal.

I would like to evaluate the professional versions but I cannot find any link that will give me the professional versions of these designer clients. Is there a professional version of the JasperReports library as well if I embed that in my report application instead of running a Jasper server? TIA.

Newbie question: We have an application that can generate a stream of XML data. It can also select the right Jasper template (based on company, user, etc.) and stream that. How do I go about exposing a REST service on the Jasper Server that can process these two and then generate a PDF as the output to be streamed back? [i am trying to search through various forums to see if this has been asked/answered before - so apologies in advance if this is a repeat.]
