  1. Hi Hozawa We are using iReport for basic reports as a standalone item and we do not use Eclipse, so it may be best to stick with what we have. Most of the support that we have required so far on iReport has been using the help of the Community like today, so the support may not be too much of an issue either. Thanks for your very helpful reply.
  2. What are the benefits of Jaspersoft Studio over iReport Designer? After seeing the below announcement by Jaspersoft, I'm trying to evaluate whether it is worth migrating all of my reports from iReport Designer version 4.0.2 to the latest version of Jaspersoft Studio. 'iReport/Jaspersoft Studio Support Announcement As of version 5.5.0, Jaspersoft Studio will be the official design client for JasperReports. iReport will remain as a supported product in maintenance-only mode until December 31, 2015, meaning we will continue to fix critical defects in upcoming releases but no new features will be added to the iReport client. Continue to maintain your existing reports with the new Jaspersoft Studio!' There appears to be a compatibility issue from version 4.6.0 onwards that would affect all of my existing reports. This can be worked around apparently, but why go to the bother? I have a significant amount of report in live use and the risk of them no longer working is not even to be entertained. How is Jaspersoft Studio better than iReport Designer? Can anyone advise, perhaps if you have already migrated, can you let me know how it went please?
  3. Yoou can use rotate left in the static text properties
  4. Hi Ajinkya Thanks for replying to my question. Due to time constraints I had to find a way to do my report without needing to use a subreport, so in the end I didn't use a subreport at all. But when I need to do another report using a subreport, I will try your suggestion. Thanks again for your help. Lynsey
  5. I’ve used a crosstab in the Summary band of my Subreport to create a dynamic column/pivot table. When I run this independently its working fine and is returning the data correctly, as expected. Then when I reference it in another report as a Subreport within the Detail Band, it runs okay with no errors, but with some of the data is missing. I’ve used the following: Subreport data expression is $P{SUBREPORT_DIR} + "mySubreportFile.jasper" Connection type Use a datasource expression Datasource expression $P{REPORT_DATA_SOURCE} Can anyone advise please? Unfortunately for security reasons, I cannot provide any files to look at.
