Hi, I have a custom data source which is made as per the steps on http://community.jaspersoft.com/wiki/custom-data-source-sample-readme This custom data souce makes web service calls which returns JSON data. The custom data source converts JSON data to the JAVA objects. So far things are good. But now I would like to create OLAP view based on this custom data source. Has anyone tried this sort of thing in past and has some documentation around it? Thanks Manpreet.

Did find any direct way. Finally landed up in making custom data source for it. And custom data source making web service calls. -
Thanks Ajinkya. I finally landed up in using custom data source. My Custom Data Source makes web service calls to my API server. API server returned data based on the user. Since in my case there was so much dependency on user, I landed up in having Loggedin user parameter to web service.

Hi, There is a scenario in which I need to show data in reporting using external REST based web service which returns JSON data. Has anyone tried that? Or is there any tutorial around that? Thanks Manpreet.

Hi, The scenario I am trying to implement is that a report for a regional manager will show: "Money Spent in his/her region. With the option to drill down at state level and then city level and then zip level". This seems possible by creating a topic and creating a adhoc view. Regional Manager could be assigned different regions. So my basic question is on how to make the report show data specific to the user who is logged in. Is there any best practice around it? Can I use logged in user name and pass in report SQL query? Or some better way? Thanks, Manpreet. ps: I am newbie in Jasperoft.
