  1. Hi, I'm working on a very simple report that just prints data to the page. My problem is that the data has to be in specific places all over the page as it's printing on a pre-printed form. I was wondering if I could load a .jpg or .pdf image of the form to be displayed in the background - even if just on the output display page - so I can test the placements without making a change, copying the report file to the unix server, having the user then generate the report and print the output on the form, they then have to scan the output form and email to me and only then will I be able to see where the data lands and see where I need to tweak placement. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help with this. Cheers, Jennifer
  2. Hi, By 'Studio' do you mean the iReport Designer? That's all I have to work with - I don't have anything called 'Studio'. Using 3.7.6. I've trying the setting 'Retain Shape' as well as 'Real Size'. The actual size of the high res image is 131x79 so I place it in the report with size 131x79. It won't let me load an image to this comment to show you samples. Hmmm ... it seems to require my image to already be here on this server. Images and Jaspersoft are not going too well for me at the moment. Getting really frustrated with Jaspersoft .. should be named Jasperhard ...
  3. Hi Matt, Thanks so much for commenting! I have been working with the logo department, with their specialist, and he has provided very high resolution images to try. As soon as they go in the report they get blurry. Currently testing with .jpg, .gif and .png. The .png seems to be the best at this point, but still poor quality once the report runs. The latest version I'm working with is a .png with original resolution of 571x342 pixels. I then resize it down to 2 different sizes (using Picture Manager) to put in the report. 143x86 and 57x34 (those are the sizes of the report areas where I need the logos to print). If I import the image at full size into the report and then try to resize it, it's almost impossible to keep it in the same scale. It gets all skewed. Is there an easy way to manually resize the image in the report and have it retain the correct proportions? I have 'Retain Shape' selected, but it goes all over the place when I take the corner and try to resize it. ANY help would be great appreciated. We are going live soon with a new warehouse management system and this logo issue with the pack slips is holding things up. Sincerely, Jennifer
  4. Hi, I've seen a few questions on here concerning the same 'show stopping' issue I'm encountering and not one single answer to any of them. The image quality of our company logo looks fine in the iReport tool, but awful when it goes to the printer or pdf. What is going on? How can this be resolved? This is a very big issue. We cannot deliver packing slips to the customer with grainy/low resolution images! Hoping someone can please help! Thanks, Jennifer
  5. Hi, I have the same issue. I guess I'm losing heart in this forum. No one seems to answer any of the questions regarding image quality. This is a show stopper for us to go live!!! Help!!!
  6. I have the same issue. The image looks fine in the tool, but when printed they are grainy and low resolution. This is a big issue, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Hi Ankur, Warm thanks for the reply. It doesn't fix it though. I stripped it down to just the sub-report, made sure the sub-report size matches exactly the frame and even the detail band. Overflow is not checked. The details still just march on down the page and fill it. Any other ideas? Thank you! Jennifer
  8. Hi Fabio, This probably isn't your answer, and I'm completely new to iReport, but I had a similar issue where I changed a subreport, but the changes didn't show up in the main report. Turned out the SUBREPORT_DIR parameter was pointing to an old location and so it wasn't picking up my changes. It was looking at an older version in a different directory. As I said, this is probably not your issue, but I figured it was worth posting anyway ... just in case. Cheers and good luck, Jennifer
  9. Hi, I'm new to iReport and am trying to build a packing slip. I need the details to stay inside a frame so they don't ooze down into a makeshift footer that I've had to put inside the detail band because of this stuff that need to take up the whole band on the right side. A picture will demo much better than my words I believe. Here is how I have the report laid out: I want the details to stay inside the frame the subreport is in, but they bleed down into my little footer. I've tried using every property I see out there, with no luck. Here are the results when I run it: I sure someone can help me out. Hoping it's something silly easy and I don't hear something like 'Oh, you can't do that in iReport!'! Thanks in advance, Jennifer
