  1. I found this on Stack Overflow. It helped me, I hope it helps all of you! There's another way if you don't want to have older Java versions installed you can do the following: Download the iReport-5.6.0.zip from http://community.jaspersoft.com/project/ireport-designer/releases Download jre-7u67-windows-x64.tar.gz (the one packed in a tar) fromhttp://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html Extract the iReport and in the extracted folder that contains the bin and etc folders throw in the jre. For example if you unpack twice the jre-7u67-windows-x64.tar.gz you end up with a folder named jre1.7.0_67. Put that folder in the iReport-5.6.0 directory: and then go into the etc folder and edit the file ireport.conf and add the following line into it: jdkhome=".jre1.7.0_67" now if you run the ireport_w.exe from the bin folder in the iReport directory it should load just fine.

  4. I found this on Stack Overflow, and it was the solution I was looking for. I hope it helps all of you! 5. I'm not exactly sure what you are asking, but I'm going to atake a wild stab in the dark and try to answer. If I am way off, please restate your question with more detail. What I assume you are asking. - How do I print the total number of pages on a report? Answer - There is a built in variable "$V{PAGE_NUMBER}" that you can use. When you get this element on your report, set the evaluation time to "Report" so it shows the total number of pages in the report.
  6. After playing with it for a while, reinstalling multiple times, and trying different things, I have chalked it up to installing the 32bit version on a 64bit machine. This has never been an issue before, so I don't know why it is now, but it appears to be my issue here. 5.5x86 works 5.6x86 doesn't work 5.6x64 works My production machine is 32bit, so I usually test with 32 on my 64 bit machine. As I stated earlier, this hasn't been a problem until now. I appreciate your feedback. Now that I have successfully tested 5.6 on a different 32bit machine and my 64bit test machine I will work on upgrading the production machine. Thanks again for your help! This is a great community!
  7. I recently tried to upgrade to Jasper Reports Server 5.6 by uninstalling JRS 5.5 and installing 5.6. I rebooted after the uninstall of 5.5 and after the installation of 5.6. When I try to open the UI in the browser it take a really long time before 1 of 3 things happens. 1. Tomcat server crashes 2. Page times out 3. A garbled mess shows up on the page Can someone please suggest a solution? Thanks, Jeff FYI I was able to reinstall 5.5 after this and successfully import my previous backup, so this problem is only with 5.6
  8. Ternary statments. The format will mimic the following syntax, however within your report you would want to omit the semicolon at the end of the statement. [Condition] ? [value if true] : [value if false] ; You might be able to do what you want with one ternarystatement like ... $F{ONE}.equals("Yes") && ($F{TWO}.equals("No") || $F{THREE}.equals("No")) ? TRUE : FALSE You might need to nest multiple ternarystatements like ... $F{ONE}.equals("Yes") ? $F{TWO}.equals("No") ? $F{TWO}.equals("No") ? TRUE : FALSE I don't think my syntax is 100% right, especially on the nested example, but this should point you in the right direction.
  9. As you hinted at, I'm thinking the variable you are using in your "Print when" condition isn't zero until the last detail row. That is why the last row is not displayed, but the other ones are. In your example line 1 detail would make your variable = 100, line 2 detail would make your variable = 0 hence the reason it is not printed. Your solution might be a simple thing like changing the reset type of your variable. Another option would be to put both of your group band and detail band in a subreport, and use the same "Print When" condition to display the subreport or not. I hope this helps, let me know how it goes.
  10. In iReport in the properties of each text element, there is a property for "PDF Font name i now deprecated. You Should use a Font extention.....". If you are exporting the report as a PDF this might be your problem. You will need to choose a font from the dropdown that is similar to the one you want. I had this problem with Times New Roman on a report I was working on.
  11. "Output To Host File System" for the scheduler output options seems to be disabled in my installation of Jasper reports server 5.5 community edition. In the "What's New" description (http://community.jaspersoft.com/what-is-new) this is touted as a feature in the community edition. How do I get this option enabled?
  12. Go into services under administrative tools. find the JasperReports tomcat server. Change setings to log in with a windows authenticated user account.
  13. When I try this I get an error. It is trying to use the computer name as the username rather than my user name. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
  14. I can't seem to connect to my DB server using Windows authentication. I am using the same desktop, login credentials, and JDBC URL in JasperReports Server that I use in iReport, and iReport works fine. I pasted the error details below, please help. com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Login failed for user 'ADMWIDE1-3583$'.
