with php sample code - no defaults for input controls (parameters) are available

When I run the php sample code against our JasperSoft Reports Server, the report parmeter defaults are not available. When I take a look at the array data being returned via the getResourceDescriptors() method, I see all kinds of data for the parameters in the type = "inputControl", but the default data is not there.
