I am using 5.5. In 5.5, have to use applicationContext-externalAuth-LDAP.xml (copy it over from the sample folder) instead. I was able to make it work in one AD environment. But it just does not work in another AD environment. With minimum debugging output, it is hard to see what's really going on behind the code.

I am trying to figure out the LDAP authentication error in CE 5.5. I have the "log4j.logger.org.springframework.security.ldap=DEBUG" on. But it only gives the following error. Is there more deatiled trace flag for LDAP debug? It is hard too tell if what the error indicates, e.g. does it locate the user jsmith in AD at all? I have some issue with CE 5.5 with LDAP. Can someone tell me where to download 5.1 version?

Copied "jasperreports-htmlcomponent-5.0.1.jar" (32bit) from idesigner 5.1 to JasperSefver 5.1 lib. The error is gone, but in the html renderred results, some field data are missing. The report looks fine if it is exported to PDF.

I set up CAS and Japser in another environment and redid the testing. I disabled the https requirement by following the follwing procedure. We usually do ssl offloading on F5 load balancer. That is why reason I test sso via http first. =========================== --CAS without https: http://www.codemarvels.com/2010/12/how-to-do-cas-sso-without-ssl/ This is a tiny tutorial on steps required to enable CAS (Jasig, v3.4x ) single-sign-out without SSL. These are the steps involved to remove dependency on SSL i.Use HTTP urls (instead of HTTPS ones) in all client configurations. ii.Edit [CAS-server-deployment-root]/ WEB-INF/ spring-configuration/ ticketGrantingTicketCookieGenerator.xml i.Change the value of attribute “p:cookieSecure” to false. iii.Edit [CAS-server-deployment-root]/ WEB-INF /spring-configuration/ warnCookieGenerator.xml i.Change the value of attribute “p:cookieSecure” to false. This is a new 5.1 installation. I just edit the sample CAS configure file and copy it as applicationContext-externalAuth-CAS-staticRoles.xml to the WEB-INF folde. There is no change to the default applicationContext-Security.xml, and applicationContext-Security-web.xml files. I also tested the LDAP. But it seems to me that we cannot enable CAS and LDAP at the same time. So I disabled the LDAP by removing applicationContext-externalAuth-LDAP.xml in order to test CAS. I am using the http instaed of https here during the test. I changed the CAS server setting to allow http. Here is my setting. Please note I had to comment out a few external data source setting to make it server be able to run. My CAS server and Jasper server is on the same machine. They use different TOMCAT installation. Just put applicationContext-externalAuth-LDAP.xml in WEB-INF folder. You do not need to touch applicationContext-security.xml or other file if you just want the internal and LDAP.

I am testing 5.1 CAS security. Jasper Sever was able to forward to the CAS server. After I type in my user is and password in the CAS login screen, the CAS trid to redirect to the url withj_spring_security_check in it. But it just hang there. There is no error in the Jaser log. Could someone shed somne light on how to troubleshoot this? I know the user id and password works if I just log into the CAS server directly. Thanks.

Finally got it working by following the instruction in the cookbook. By the way, the following two lines in the doc do not look right, need to use " around the Value. Also need to set the group serach correctly. Enalbling LDAP spring security debug helped a lot. Thanks. cn=Administrator,dc=example,dc=com password

I have not fixed yet. With the approach I used in 4.7 for 5.1, I got the same Blue screen Access Denied page.

I saw the following in the What's new session about the external authentication approach. Could someone shed light on the detailed steps to set up LDAP. I renamed sample-applicationContext-externalAuth-LDAP.xml to "applicationContext-externalAuth-LDAP.xml", plugin the parameter, then copy the file to apache-tomcatwebappsjasperserverWEB-INF. It did not work. Do I need turn on something in "applicationContext-security.xml"? I saw the following entry in the applicationContext-security.xml file, what does it mean? I am suprised that I could not find any relevant info the admin guide. I got the LDAP works in 4.7. I used the 4.7 file against 5.1, I got access denied error. Then noticed this comment. I am new to the css. Could you be more specific on how to implement this? In 4.7, Report list has 5 columns (name, description, type, created data, modified date). I want the name and description fields to auto wrap so that I can see all words without looking at tool-tip. Thanks.

In 4.5 CE version, the Repository report list, the report name and description field are automatically wraped to next line so the whole description will get displayed. Is there any way or setting to turn on this feature in 4.7? in 4.7, the descrition and name will be truncated on ipad Safari browser, there is no tool-tip. Thanks.
