  1. I am reinstalling JR on a computer that had the server software uninstalled. I downloaded JR server cp 4.7.0 and iReport 5.0. iReport 5.0 installed fine but I am getting a error during installation for the server. What can I do to get past this? I don't see an existing tomcat running as a service. I have chosen to install the bundled version of tomcat and postgresql during install. 2. I am having difficulty figuring out how to use the various elements to insert a letter format with various fields within the letter. My questions are, do I use the Static Text, Text Field or Sub Report elements, and I suspect that I can/should place these in the detail band of the report. I have searched fairly wide but can't find my exact answer. Example: Dear $F{fname}, Thank you for your recent order in the amount of $F{amt1}. You have been a customer since $F{firstdate}. Regards, Customer Service
  3. Thanks for the reply. No, I have not moved any files, just stepped through the initial installation. One thing that I didn't do was to install the sample files/reports. I did locate the jt400.jar file and added it to the location you specified; restarted the services and logged back in but stll same error. I have gone back and read the JP Server Community Project Users Guide and have removed what reports that I was trying to manually install to the server and instead, went at loading reports from within iReports. Now when I have a working preview in iReports and I step through the User Guide of adding the report and resources to the Repository Navigator, I still get the Error Filling Report. My JDBC Datasource Driver: sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver URL: jdbc:odbc:sJHA2020 I find it odd that when I finish the add JasperServer Report and complete the ReportUnit Wizard in iReport, I do see the Resources folder get built in my report unit but I can't click on the resources folder and see anything within it. When I go over to the browser to view the JasperReport Server and look under the View->Repositories, I don' t see any info regarding my Datasource there. I am sure that I am missing something. Any other suggestions welcomed. Post Edited by gcorder at 08/24/2012 09:03 Post Edited by gcorder at 08/24/2012 09:50
  4. JasperServer 4.7.0 I have built my first report in iReport and have included it in the local JasperServer repository. I have defined a datasource for the folder that I placed the report in on JS repository. Datasource test succeeds and the report previews fine in iReport. When I run the report I get the following 3 errors: =============================== The server has encountered an error. Please excuse the inconvenience. Error Message com.jaspersoft.jasperserver.api.JSException: Error filling report Error Message net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRException: Error preparing statement for executing the report query : SELECT "CFMAST"."CFNA1", Error Message java.sql.SQLException: [iBM][system i Access ODBC Driver][DB2 for i5/OS] - Error message text unavailable.
