I have a bean like following Employee.java The fields are: emp_id, emp_name, department ====The report should appear as follows=== Department:- (for example "HR") emp_id emp_name emp_Id emp_name Department:-(For example "Mechanical) emp_id emp_Name emp_id emp_Name Kindly help me in this. simple idea on how this can be done is enough. Hi All, I have 10 records in the database. In Ireport i have placed "Product_ID" and "Product_Price in the detail band. The problem is when the price exceeds 2000rs the entire row text should be displayed in red color? how to achieve this? kindly help me. Thanks in advance.

But still I have some doubt. in your explanation you said "1) Create a Master Report , Supply the query" I cannot pass a query to the main report. All the data that my main report needs will be coming from a bean like "Accounts.java" I have to pass this bean to the main report in order to fill it. How can i pass this bean to the main report. which data source is suitable. when i check the API i found 2 data sources and both of them take collection and array. I am little confused. i have a bean and it contains some properties and it also contain a collection. in my report in the column header section i have to use these properties and in the detail section i have to use the collection so i have to use the properties in the column header and the collection in the detail section. for example "registration number" should be in the column header and the products list should be in the detail section. how to achieve this? kindly help me? thanks in advance

Hi I am new to ireports. I am attaching the sample employee details slip that i have to design. In this the table columns have to stretch vertically according to the length of the data. I have to design the complete table that i showed in my attachment so what is the best component and what is the simple way to design this. Please tell me how to achieve this in ireport ?
