  1. Thanks Matt - It is working now. Though i have a question regarding the parameter. Is it only text as parameter what hive is supporting. Can we have a query for List of values rather than a static list Thanks AB
  2. Hi there I have created couple of jasper reports with hive connection. All of them are working fine except the one with prompt (parameter). Well the issue is , the report runs fine on ireport . On IReport when i click on preview it pops the prompt. However when i publish this report to jasper server and run it from there the prompt doesnt show up . The report still runs though it returns a blank report as the prompt was expecting some value. It seems the prompt is somehow broken. In order to check whether it is a problem with my machine, i ran a sample report from jasperserver (pointing to regular DB). The prompt work in this case Seems to me something is wrong or i am missing some step. Have somebody tried this before Thanks AB
  3. Not sure.. I am also pretty new to this Hive - Jasper connection. I am facing similar issue though i fixed this by removing any parameter (Prompts). Seems prompt do not work with hive connection on jasperserver. If you have any prompts/parameter then try removing them and run the report AB
  4. Thanks Matt, It is working now. I am back on my jasper eval. Thanks again It seems though there is no test Connection button to check whether the connection is working or not. Also when i tried running the hive connection report on jasperserver , it didnt show the prompt.(parameter) which i included. The report didnt pull any data. When i remove the parameter the report runs just fine. It seems Hive JDBC with jasperserver cannot handle parameters Thanks AB
  5. I am desperatly trying to make it work. Did it ever worked with Hive connection for any body. If yes , please let me know. I demo design is in the end stage and seems like this solution just wont crack Thanks -AB
  6. Hi Matt, Jasper Server Version - cp-4.1.0 ireport - Using the same with the bundle (IReport Designer 4.0.2) Yes , earlier posting was my mistake. I forgot to update the WEB-INF folder with the Hive JDBC WEB-INF folder Steps to configure JasperServer Installed JasperServer 4.10 with MySQL, Tomcat and ireport Updated the WEB-INF folder with http://jasperforge.org/plugins/esp_frs/file.php?id=117&group_id=428&relid=86 WEB-INF Added the ireport Hive JDBC plugin. Created a report using ireport. The report runs fine on ireport Added the server repository and published the ireport to the jasper server. Created a JDBC Datasource. The JDBC passes Connection test. Login to Jasperserver, Edit the published report , add datasource - > Hive Data source Run the reports. It gives the error as mentioned on my previous email Let me know if i am missing out any step. Thanks AB
  7. Hi there I have created a report using ireport and hive jdbc connection. I followed the steps mentioned with jasperserver installation . I published the same ireport to server. It seems the server is giving a JDBC error. The server is installed on the same hive server. I am not sure whats going on Attached is the error description
  8. Code:Hi there I tried pushing ireports using hive connection to jasperserver and got the attach error. The most interesting message is " No query executer factory registered for the 'HiveSQL' language." Does jasperserver works with hive connection ? Thanks -AB
  9. This one is really cool. Only problem i face is the amount of time it takes to pull out query metadata. Seems like it is hitting the hive database before pulling out the metadata. It takes some decent amount of time to retrieve the columns with Fields Provider. Rest seems good to me. Well i wont deny it, it is a good start. Thanks Matt AB
  10. Thanks Matt. It is working. As i was a little rusty ,it seems it is working perfectly now Thanks Again
  11. I am new to Jaspersoft Ireport. I tried connecting it with HIVE using jdbc driver. JDBC plugin download from http://jasperforge.org/projects/bigdatareportingfornosqlandhadoop/downloads/Hadoop folder. It seems i am able to make connection to the Database with ireport as the Connection is a success though when i try to validate any query it gives me the below error Query error Message: net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRException: SQL problems: java.sql.SQLException: Method not supported Level: SEVERE Stack Trace: SQL problems: java.sql.SQLException: Method not supported com.jaspersoft.ireport.designer.data.fieldsproviders.SQLFieldsProvider.getFields(SQLFieldsProvider.java:432) com.jaspersoft.ireport.designer.connection.JDBCConnection.readFields(JDBCConnection.java:470) com.jaspersoft.ireport.designer.wizards.ConnectionSelectionWizardPanel.validate(ConnectionSelectionWizardPanel.java:146) org.openide.WizardDescriptor$7.run(WizardDescriptor.java:1357) org.openide.util.RequestProcessor$Task.run(RequestProcessor.java:572) org.openide.util.RequestProcessor$Processor.run(RequestProcessor.java:997) I tried accessing hive with a MAC as well as PC though no luck Can somebody suggests a way out Thanks AB
