  1. I'm having exactly the same issue. I can't believe this is not fixed yet!!!! it was opened on 09/21/2011 and such a critical issue!! I need it for bigdecimal formatting and date formatting.
  2. lol. I did just that. I opened up my subreport and it was my main report. But my mind wasn't on the inifinite loop problem at the time, replaced it with the real sub report and I haven't had the inifite loop problem since. thanks mate.
  3. Actually after further investigation it seems to be a run to bottom issue. if I have run to bottom ticked then I get a blank page, otherwise not. the first detail band has the sub report.
  4. I have a report that has 2 pages (2 details bands). I suppress the last page under a given scenario and I use the print when expression on the band. The last page still shows (headre and footer is there) but the details is not shown... Is this a bug or a feature? I dont want to show the last page at all.
  5. Looks like I'm currently on page 85286 and growing. there should be less than 5 pages in the report. I randomly get this inifite loop and I have fixed it in some places. I fixed it by providing more space below the sub report in the main report, weird. But this time I can't figure it out. Im using jasper server version 4. I should not get into an infinite loop but I do so has anyone else come across this and what was there solution? 2011-08-24 15:25:26,019 DEBUG JRVerticalFiller,http-8090-1:998 - Fill 9403854: page footer 2011-08-24 15:25:26,019 DEBUG JRBaseFiller,http-8090-1:1742 - Fill 9403854: adding page 852832011-08-24 15:25:26,020 DEBUG JRVerticalFiller,http-8090-1:388 - Fill 9403854: page header2011-08-24 15:25:26,022 DEBUG JRVerticalFiller,http-8090-1:998 - Fill 9403854: page footer2011-08-24 15:25:26,023 DEBUG JRBaseFiller,http-8090-1:1742 - Fill 9403854: adding page 852842011-08-24 15:25:26,023 DEBUG JRVerticalFiller,http-8090-1:388 - Fill 9403854: page header2011-08-24 15:25:26,025 DEBUG JRVerticalFiller,http-8090-1:998 - Fill 9403854: page footer2011-08-24 15:25:26,026 DEBUG JRBaseFiller,http-8090-1:1742 - Fill 9403854: adding page 852852011-08-24 15:25:26,026 DEBUG JRVerticalFiller,http-8090-1:388 - Fill 9403854: page header2011-08-24 15:25:26,028 DEBUG JRVerticalFiller,http-8090-1:998 - Fill 9403854: page footer2011-08-24 15:25:26,029 DEBUG JRBaseFiller,http-8090-1:1742 - Fill 9403854: adding page 852862011-08-24 15:25:26,029 DEBUG JRVerticalFiller,http-8090-1:388 - Fill 9403854: page header2011-08-24 15:25:26,031 DEBUG JRVerticalFiller,http-8090-1:998 - Fill 9403854: page footer
  6. Would you be willing to share your source code with me? I'll looking to embed PDFs into my report. Maybe I might spot something as I try to create my own custom element. As you say there is no doco on this stuff and it would be great to see an example on this topic.
  7. Did you ever find out a way to add a custom element.. I would like to create my own too.
  8. I'm creating a jasper report in jasper server and I need to append another PDF to the back of it. I would like to contain this logic in the jasper server if possible. Is there some sort of after create method I could call where I have access to the generated report, I'm happy to dive into the spring code if needed. There are going to be a few reports that need this so a generic way to handle this without created a wrapper around the webservice would be nice. I was creating images from the pdf and adding that the the end of the report, but the pdf is 255 pages in colour and it takes a long time to convert :(
  9. thanks ernestoo for the help... So it looks I can use a scriptlet to call my datasource.. I'll give that a whirl and report back. I'll try the ETL if that fails.
  10. Hi guys I have a report that will gather information from 3 webservices. I have successfully achieved this in jasperser server. My problem is that I don't know if I'm writing the report in the correct nature or whether jasper is the correct technology choice. Here is what I have done I created a datasource that will call 3 webservices and return the results. The funny thing is that the results from the webservice is basically a preformatted report that I'm not allowed to alter. So I get 3 items returned to the report and then I display those 3 items on the page. So really Im calling 3 webservices and apending the results together, and adding paging , titles etc. What I would have preferred to do is to have 3 seperate datasources and use 3 subreports and combine that on a master report, that way I can get reuse out of the datasources for different reports. But I haven't been able to create multiple datasources in a report and from my research I dont think it is possible? So is what Im doing the simplest way to achieve what I need? or is there another jasper server way. Is it possible to have many datasources on a report? could I use a scriptlet to achieve this? or would using straight itext be a simplier solution. The thing I like about jasperserver is that I can add or edit reports in production without redeploying systems that use the reports,
