You are right! iReport 3.7 does have the option of using Excel as a DataSource, But this is not implemented in JasperServer 3.7.1 as well. Incase it is a very important requirement then you need to create a custom data source. The steps to create a custom data source are available in JasperServer Admin Guide

Hi , I have a requirement where we need extremely good user interactivity with the canned reports designed in iReport. The reports published to the jasperserver, can be modified in terms of: Users shld be able to sort the cloumns on the fly they can hide unhide cloumns/ add remove columns and charts change the chart type on the fly. Is there any way to achieve this by extending the JasperReports library or writing any custom component. Is there any project already implemented that would give us similar functionality even if paid? Incase we need to moify the source code to provide this functionality, Please refer some document that might be of help. Request your urgent inputs on the same.

Hi, I am trying to configure audit reports with js 3.7.1 pro Without sample databases installed. In applicationContext-audit.xml file: i changed this entry to true <entry key="com.jaspersoft.jasperserver.api.logging.audit.domain.AuditEvent" value="true"/> But once this is done the server stops functioning. even after changing this to false again, the server does not gets up With sample databases: this error does not occur. When i change the value to true, i am able to view all the audit reports properly.. any idea of why this is happening? Is sample database and reports a prerequisite to configure auditing? HI , I have created a report using Excel as datasource. When i run the report from iReport it works correctly and gives the results. When the same is publised tpo the Jasper Server it gives the foll error: Could not create a validated object, cause: [Microsoft][ODBC Excel Driver]Optional feature not implemented.Please guide as to what needs to be enabled. Hi, I have just installed Jaspersoft pro on Windows 7.Jasperserver is working fine but iReport isnt. When you click on file -> new -> blank template-> open this template Now if you click browse button, then it nothing happens. it doesnt open the wizard to select the location. The same happens when u select the excel datasource for the report query, and when u click to select excel, again no response, the window to select the file doesnt open. But all the other buttons work fine. Basically all the browse buttons arent working all the rest are working fine. Please guide. I am using Jasper pro 3.7. 1) created an organization and then have resources within that organisation. NOw i need to export this organization and import it on a different server. I used the import export utility but when i export my organization using the foll command: js-export --uris /organizations/ABC --output-dir myExport where ABC is my organisation, then i import the same using js-import.bat --input-dir myExport --prepend-path It imports the folder and its contents correctly but then ABC becomes a folder and does not get imported as an organisation. Then there is no way to transform it into an organisation and i also cannot delete it. Please tell me how would you import export an organisation and confirm that it has all the options that an organisation should have. Also how do you delete a folder within root-> organisation? i do not get the delete option for it when i log as superuser and when i log as administrator i cannot see the corresponding folder hence cannot delete it at all.
