Why Horizontal Line's widens in width

Hello, I am generating reports in HTML and aslo applying css to the generated report. the problem is that horizontal lines get too much in width,when printed.In HTML preview they look normal in size. Can anyone tell me why this problem is coming? I shall be very thankful to you. -Adeela
