Check this: * To fix the Ubuntu "libfontmanager" issue that can kill the entire JVM (e.g. JasperReports), remove these troublesome fonts: mkdir ~/fonts_backup sudo mv /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-gujarati-fonts/aakar-medium.ttf ~/fonts_backup/ sudo mv /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-gujarati-fonts/Rekha.ttf ~/fonts_backup/ I found it here: http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu_Edgy It worked for me!!!
