  1. That created something, but no CUSTOMERS table. The 1st example in the iReports manual is "Select * from CUSTOMERS...
  2. I have the Jasper distribution. As near as I can tell from the post that you quoted, this merely starts an empty database server, but there is no default database AFAIK. WHen I create the db source in iReports after running the HSQLDB server, I can click the "Test" button and iReports detects the server OK, but the next step in the manual is to enter "Select * from customers" and I get a table not found error.
  3. I purchased the iReports PDF manual. In the "The First Report" chapter, it describes the steps to connect to a sampple Northwinds HSQLDB database. Everything that follows depends upon that connection. Where is this database??? I have HSQLDB installed and have used it for other purposes. I see no evidence of a Northwinds database, although the IReports manual assumes that it exists.
  4. I just started using Ireport... Using the Report Wizard per the tutorial works fine with several of out MySQL databases. On one database (the one I am actually interested in), when I use the query designer to select a table either by double-clicking it or dragging it to the work area, I just get a tiny dialog box with no fields to check. All of the databases are MySQL. They all test OK using the JDBC "Test" in Ireports. There is nothing special that I can think of regarding the schema that Irports wont work with. Any ideas? As near as I can tell, Ireports lacks any diagnostics, so I'm not sure where to go next.
