I'd very much like to help and am angry at myself for not writing it down (maybe it would be easier if the error messages were copy-pastable?), but I'm short on Win2k3 servers where JasperIntelligence and MySQL aren't already installed. On the other hand, I ran into the problem on both servers I tried the install on: if you have such a server at hand and try to install JI with the bundled mysql, I believe you'll run into the same problem. It's not much, but it's more than nothing. :) Cheers,

Thanks for the answer Beth: I would have very gladly used 1.2, but it didn't come packaged with an installer in the sourceforge download area. I gave it a try nevertheless, but failed (as expected, I confess) when trying to deploy it. As this is my first concact with jasperintelligence, I didn't bother too much and downloaded 1.1 which comes bundled with an installer. As an aside, the 1.1 failed to install jasperintelligence on two win2k3 server machines when trying to set up the bundled mysql. Someone might want to see what that's about. I created a test_role, and a test_user under test_role. I granted read access to test_role, but all the test_user sees when logging in is an "HTTP Status 403 - Access is denied" error. How should I set up the users and the repository so that the users can access selected directories and reports in the repository?

Can anyone tell me why I can access predefined olap views via URLs like [url=http://localhost:8080/jasperserver/olap/viewOlap.html?name=/olap/views/my_test_view]http://localhost:8080/jasperserver/olap/viewOlap.html?name=/olap/views/my_test_view without any valid user information?
