  1. Has anyone been able to generate Jasper 6.4.0 reports with a Java Lamdba function? My report is relatively simple, just uses a template, custom fonts and two sub-reports but it has been a struggle to figure out why it is not running. A simple report runs fine, but when I increase report complexity by adding a sub-report Lambda fails to generate the report and does not provide a useful error message. In general, Logging by Lambda is minimal, so it is not clear what is causing the problem. Subreports are stored on S3 and so is the template. Also, the reports run fine locally and I know that Lambda is able to connect to the SQL Server database. Has anyone experience similar problems? Any tips welcome.
  2. I would like to combine 5 complex PDF reports into one PDF. The reports are standard Jasper reports and have a variable number of pages. They are too different to implement in one report. Any suggestions? I am currently pasting the PDFs together after PDF reports are generated with a 3rd party tool. Is there a way to accomplish this in Jasper?

  4. As far as I can tell Column Footer behaves differently from Group footers and the suggested setting will not release the vertical space. http://www.jasperforge.org/index.php?option=com_joomlaboard&Itemid=215&func=view&catid=9&id=19627#19627
  5. Thanks for your post. I came up with a workaround which is not elegant, but works. It includes creating a new group and working with its footer via an expression that correctly guesses (trial and error, and a predetmined number of lines for a given report page are essential for this to work) after which "group" to show the footer. It would really help if Column Footer would behave the same as Group Footer and release vertical space when blank.
  6. Hi, I am sure this is an issue in many reports, but I could not find a posting that addresses it. I use a column footer band with "Print When Expression" to display it only on the first page. This works fine, except that on the second page the space allocated to column footer band is not released. Nothing is shown on the second page, which is correct, but the "vertical" space is still taken up. Is there a setting I can use to release this space? In other words, band height for the column footer band should be zero on second and consecutive pages.

  8. Thank you for your comments. I will try the subdataset approach if performance becomes a problem. Just to clarify the issue: the report has a chart in detail band. When different records are displayed in the detail band, the chart should be updated (redrawn) with new record information, but it is not. One approach to fixing this behavior is to put the chart in a subreport. Other is suggested by lucianc. Cheers, Miha
  9. SOLVED. Putting the chart into a subreport does the trick. Is this behaviour by design?
  10. Hi, I could not find the answer to my question in recent postings... My report has a bar chart in the detail band. The chart graphs two values from the detail band. The problem is that the chart does not get updated with data from each detail band and that the same chart is displayed each time. Is there a way to correct this? Am I missing a setting? Thanks!
