  1. Hi,

I have seen a few issues (bugs) in 1.2 and we are discussing if we should upgrade to versions 1.2.1. Are there any release notes were changes from 1.2 to 1.2.1 are documented. This is business critical for us, and like most organisations we can not upgrade before we know that it solves our problems.

We are looking forward to your response,

    Thanks in advance!

    /E

  2. Hi,

We are using iReport and JasperIntelligence. I like to write a filter by using the Filter Expression feature in iReports Report Query window, a filter which is triggered when a user of a UserGroup in JasperIntelligence is accessing the report. How would the filter expression look like (if using the Expression editor)?

    Cheers!

  3. I seem to be close of getting my drill downs to work now. However I did not completely follow you in the previous posting.

I am going to try the drilldown to work by using the example with the EmployeeAccounts report (as in your previous example).

First of all is the value of the HyperlinkTypes field OK (HyperlinkType=Reference)?

If pasting the code of previous posting to the Link Parameters Expression field, what should I call the Link Parameter (Value in Link Parameter Field)?

What value should I use for the Hyperlink Reference Expression field (by using the Reference tab)?

    Cheers!

  4. I am using the hyperlink (tab Hyperlink)(iReports) settings of the field properties window to create a link (drill down) to a detailed report.

The link I am using is working well.

I am using hyperlink type: Reference

I the reference text area I have defined the link I am using:

The parameter used is named: kpi (RR__120, is the value I am sending to the detailed report)

I have published the report unit johnsson3b to jasperserver with an input control named kpi.

I would like to make the link dynamic! How would the url look to become dynamic and pass the value form the kpi field OR the parameter called kpi?

  5. Hi,

How do you implement user rights to reports accessed through JasperServer? I have previously got the information that you create filters to your data set of your reports, and that the filters should be dependent (triggered by) the User Role.

In the Report Query window in iReports (available through the menu: data/report query) there is a button could Filter expression, if using that editor can I create a filter that is triggered by user group at run time?

Does anyone have an example of a filter that works (by accessing the reports through JasperServer)?

Is there any best practices regarding user rights that you may share?

    Thanks,

    /E

  6. I got the information from reading postings in the forums that it is impossible to create drill-downs in reports without doing some customization programming. I just can not believe that this is true given that when you look at the Hyperlink tab in the Field Properties window, you see that there are for example ways of passing parameters with a link.

I have made hyperlinks from my reports, And I can see that there are ways of passing parameters, why would it not be possible to link to a Report and sending a parameter (for example period)?

To link from a report to another is really one of the most common BI functionalities, I just can not believe that this is not supported functionality.

For your information; I am accessing my reports from JasperIntelligence.

    Best Regards,

    Eric

  7. Hi, maybe I missanderstand the install instructions of JasperIntelligence but I thought that it was possible to get iReports to be included in the installation when running the 1.1.0 windows installer. I have tryed installing Jasper Intelligence a few times but I never manage to get iReports installed?

If in addition trying to install iReports, I do not find the necessary jars of the plugin.

The installation doc does not seem to be correct.

    /E

  8. Hi,

I have not tested the mailing feature of my installation but I try to be of help anyway.

There is an install guide that you may have seen, that is delivered with your installation, it is available in the doc directory, and the guide includes a section about mailing configuration. However the instructions are not completely clear.

I do not exactly remember which fields to fill in to setup the mailing functionality, when running the install wizard, but I try my best to help.

According to the install guide there are 4 fields to fill in:

Hostname: This is probably the value corresponding to the value SMTP Server (look at your e-mail setting in MS Outlook for example)

    Email user name: "Obvious"

    Email user password: "Obvious"

from e-mail: This is the mail shown as sender of the e-mails sent by the scheduling functionality of JasperIntelligence

But I also remember that the wizard asked for protocol and ports. Regarding port that may differ from email service provider but standard is 25.

When it comes to protocol I keyed in pop3 as protocol.

I hope this is of help but as I mentioned, I have not so far tested my settings.

    Regards,

  9. Hi, I have just made my first installation of JasperIntelligence and have a few questions.

Can't items have labels starting with a number like 1_sales ? When I add a label or a name that starts with a number I get a message saying contains invalid characters!?

Another thing that seems a bit strange when comparing the installation with the install documention is that at least I never get the questions about

    Install JasperIntelligence Analysis Components

    Enable Web Services Components

    Install the iReport Application

Is this just happening on my machine or could it be problems of the release?

Will JasperIntelligence support local characters like åäö?

    Cheers!

  10. Hi,

It seems like MySQL is changing their business model by the introduction of MySQL Community Server and the MySQL Enterprise Server. How is this going to impact on JasperSoft offerings for example JasperIntelligence bundles with a free version of MySQL?

    /Cheers

  11. Hi, I have a problem in iReports, when creating reports with hyperlinks and trying to review the report, the hyperlink does not work, nor even in the hyperlink report of the samples included in the 1.2.7 zip file. Does anyone have an idea of why, could it be my anti virus protection creating this problem, I have enabled pop ups but that does not help.

    Cheers

(thanks for you great forums, they really make a difference!)

  12. Hi, this is a simple question I am sure many can help me out with. I have just started to work with iReports, but what is the difference between iReports and JasperReports?

I tryed to find the answer on the JasperSoft home page but no luck!

    Cheers
