I noticed that in Ireport 2.0.5, the textfield (set to overflow and stretch to highest object) doesn't work in the detail band. To overcome this, you have to allocate vertical space in the detail band, thus consuming more pages. However it works in other bands. I have records in the detail band that accesses variable-length text. I have browsed this forum and cannot find any better solutions. Any advice is welcomed.

Thanks for the reply. Found my solution. Forgot to include the classpath to my external jar in the build.xml to compile the report. Thanks again.

I have created using my own classes in GUtil.jar. When testing in IReport, I have included the Classpath to it and created a variable to called a method within the external jar. It works perfectly. However when I deployed to my web application, somehow jasperreport engine throws an error saying, 'No such property: GUtil for class...'. I have already set the Windows variable Classpath. Already browsed the forum, but no postings on external jar. Appreciate any help.
