  1. The problem is that you're using jdk 1.4, the class it can't find was introduced in 1.5, as evidenced here. The problem will go away if you upgrade to 1.5 or greater. Post edited by: rbaldwin, at: 2008/06/18 18:36
  2. I'd been having this problem as well. I eventually found that if I deleted all of the files in my local maven repository (/home/user/.m2/repository/) I could get it to build again. This seems to be an issue with maven that's perhaps specific to Linux. As I've been able to duplicate it on a few Linux machines and a couple of different distros, yet haven't had it come up while using Windows. Just be advised that the build can take a while after you delete that repository, because it has to download all of the artifacts again. Hope that helps.
