  1. Oooo jvway, thanks for that.....then I need to upgrade to 3.x because I am still using....yes, still using version 0.5.1..very,very,very old version.
  2. Hi Instead of creating a main and subreport, is it possible to create a single report from 2 different queries which are not related to each other. ie. different tables, grouped and analytical functions (sum,avg) The one is in table format and the other should be displayed as a graph. Any help is appreciated Regards
  3. Thanks Matt / Sven for your suggestions, I will have a look at the sample reports. I am a java/ireport newbie, therefore I chose the easier way out as suggested by Gaby38 as I know my way around sql statements My statement: select SUBSTR((ADD_MONTHS(TRUNC(TO_DATE(<MyYearField>, 'YYYY'), 'YYYY'), 2)-1),0,2) ||' <MyMonth_In_Another_Language > ' || <MyYearField> as XXXXX The month to change will always be February and I needed to show it in English or another one language when selected in my application.
  4. Field is of type Date Hi need some help, please My report field result is eg. 31 January 2007 (Field Pattern = dd MMMMM yyyy) How can I display the month (January) in another language eg. If January then ABCD elseif February then EFGH elseif March then IJKL etc....etc Thanks in advance Regards
  5. Thanks for the encouragement guys. As mentioned previously we have not decided what tool we are going to use. We could stay with iReport....we could go the upgraded Crystal way. We are currently running Remedy Web and our Crystal version (9) needs upgrading.....but it is going to cost a pretty penny. iReport was suggested by our vendor and I started using it recently to develop some reports. Having used Crystal, I feel iReports do take a bit longer with report development I will keep you guys posted on the decision we do take. PS.. Helleva quick response to the message I posted. Thanks a mill
  6. Thanks guys We are using iReport as a temporary solution/evaluation (Have Crystal and still deciding to go to the latest version) I have however resolved the issue by using the decode function in the report sql- because it will always be 0 or 1 Thanks again for the responses Regards
  7. Thanks Guys but I am about to give up I have added the line to the expression editor of the field which is of type double. How do I change the field type to hold text
  8. Thanks for the quick post - Do I enter this in the textfield expression of the field If I do I get the following error net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRException:ÂErrorsÂwereÂencounteredÂwhenÂcompilingÂreportÂexpressionsÂclassÂfile: 1.ÂTheÂleft-handÂsideÂofÂanÂassignmentÂmustÂbeÂaÂvariable ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂvalueÂ=Â(java.lang.Double)((((java.lang.Double)field_ID_MATCH.getValue())Â=Â0)Â?Â"No"Â:Â"Yes");
  9. Hi There I am new to iReports and need some help I have a textfield on my report and the value can either 0 or 1. How do I show this as No or Yes. Something similar to if {fieldname} = 0 then No else {fieldname} = Yes Thanks in advance
