  1. Hi beverleym, the Feature Request (artf1526) is still open (priority 3), Jorge
  2. Many thanks, this subject was solved directly with JasperSoft, Jorge
  3. morning, I use tomcat 5.5.23 and the last JasperServer version (1.2.1) was running there. I have prepared new reports, using parameter-lists (that is, X at the place of $P). Only the new version (2.0.0) has this possibility implemented; that is the reason! I need only to upgrade from 1.2.1 to 2.0.0 (The JS software is ready, the DB still not). thanks a lot, Jorge
  4. I suppose you talk about "META-INF/context.xml attached! [file name=context.txt size=2630]http://www.jasperforge.org/components/com_joomlaboard/uploaded/files/context.txt[/file]
  5. I try again to send the images ... [file name=Images_Compressed.zip size=37729]http://www.jasperforge.org/components/com_joomlaboard/uploaded/files/Images_Compressed.zip[/file]
  6. Hi kidice, yes, I have created the hibernate sequence (see please everything attached); there is no table with this name (THIS_14_); and I have the hibernate.properties set to oracle (hibernate.properties). Many thanks for your help!, Jorge [file name=hibernate.txt size=371]http://www.jasperforge.org/components/com_joomlaboard/uploaded/files/hibernate.txt[/file]
  7. Hi kidice, thanks for your help. I could not use your file directly, but I have made some adaptations, to be near to the known sql-commands (used during the installation from JS 1.2.1), giving the attached sql-part as a result. I suppose, there are still some problems, because the upgraded (to JS 2.0.0) installation does not start, giving the attached log-part out. Please, take a look on that txt-file, to find possible errors on upgrading the oracle DB (Solaris'10 Oracle'10). Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend, Jorge [file name=upgradeOracle_JS_1.txt size=81922]http://www.jasperforge.org/components/com_joomlaboard/uploaded/files/upgradeOracle_JS_1.txt[/file]
  8. Sorry, now would be a TXT-File attached. [file name=upgradeMySql_JS_1.txt size=1346]http://www.jasperforge.org/components/com_joomlaboard/uploaded/files/upgradeMySql_JS_1.txt[/file]
  9. Hi kidice, many thanks, but I have already an installed JS 1.2.1 and need only the upgrade to JS 2.0.0 for Oracle (similar to the one for MySQL, attached) to install the new WAR-File. I'm not sure, if I can extract the parts which are to be changed from your SQL-File. Again, many thanks, Jorge
  10. Hello everybody, as the JasperServer PRO for Solaris has the Oracle-Access resolved, I wanted to install it (Demo from JasperSoft), but I founded only the Windows- and Linux-Software there. This Message is being inserted here, because the Community Link sent me through the JasperForge.org to this Forum. Many thanks, Jorge
  11. Hello everybody, has somebody already converted the mySQL Patch to Oracle? It was not included onto the JasperServer Version 2.0 Software. Thanks a lot, Jorge
  12. Hello everybody, how should be defined a NIS users Databank, at the place of i.e. LDAP, on the JasperServer? Many thanks, Jorge
  13. Hello everybody, how should be defined an XML Datasource with JasperServer? Many thanks, Jorge
  14. Hello Lucian, many thanks, but after installing Tomcat 5.5.23 (from another source!) the problems were solved. I have found LDAP (as alternative) for the user (Account/Password) access to JasperServer. Is there also the possibility of using NIS, so that our Users must be managed only once on our Product? Regards, Jorge
  15. Hi Lucian, many thanks for your prompt answer. I have put the connection to the database in ".../Catalina/localhost/context.xml" (Tomcat had not named it "jasperserver.xml") and in ".../webapps/jasperserver/META-INF out (As comments). I have changed the definition of "<bean id="dataSource" ..." to the one you told me in the ".../WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml"-file. There was a "Parse"-Problem (I didn't see!) with the Tomcat "digester", which I will try to solve first and also a Message "Context does not have docBase set" (I suposse because there is no "docBase"-Parameter on the "Context path" on those files). Now, the starting-up go ahead with the JasperServer, but another "beans" (i.e. related with the report scheduling) can not use the "dataSource" from the applicationContext (maybe, this bean must be also defined on this last file). After solving the Problem with Tomcat, I will tell you about the new results. In the mean time, you could give me more advices about this subject, because I could still not understand the use of the "quartzScheduler". Have a nice time, Jorge
  16. Hallo everybody, after having success with the installation of JasperServer Version 1.2.0, also with access to a separate Oracle Server Version 10.2 under Solaris Version 10, with Windows XP and Linux Fedora, unfortunately I have not achieve to have success installing it on a Solaris Sparc Workstation. The jasperserver was copied to the right subdirectory (Tomcat-webapps) and the context-files were adapted (with the same corrections indicated on the Documentations for the Installation of the WAR-File), giving up a Tomcat http://HostAddress:8080/ (JasperServer included) with some problems: ################### - - - 2007-03-14 17:34:17 StandardManager[/jasperserver]: Seeding random number generator class java.security.SecureRandom 2007-03-14 17:34:17 StandardManager[/jasperserver]: Seeding of random number generator has been completed 2007-03-14 17:34:17 Set web app root system property: 'jasperserver.root' = [/opt/tomcat/apache-tomcat-4.1.34-LE-jdk14/webapps/jasperserver/] 2007-03-14 17:34:17 Initializing Log4J from [/opt/tomcat/apache-tomcat-4.1.34-LE-jdk14/webapps/jasperserver/WEB-INF/log4j.properties] 2007-03-14 17:34:17 Loading Spring root WebApplicationContext 2007-03-14 17:34:23 StandardContext[/jasperserver]: Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'dataSource' defined in ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml]: Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is javax.naming.NamingException: Cannot create resource instance javax.naming.NamingException: Cannot create resource instance at org.apache.naming.factory.ResourceFactory.getObjectInstance(ResourceFactory.java:142) at javax.naming.spi.NamingManager.getObjectInstance(NamingManager.java:304) - - - ################### Could you please tell me, which is the meaning of this ERROR (i.e. "Error creating bean with name 'dataSource' defined in ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml]: Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is javax.naming.NamingException: Cannot create resource instance"), because I have tried already many alternative changes on this applicationContext.xml-file without success. Many thanks, Jorge
  17. Hi Thomas, we are also involved with productive Jasper Reports. If you agree with this, please send me an eMail to Jorge.Morales@ToMaxX.de with Offices in Unterföhring, by you in Munich!. Have a nice time, Jorge http://JorgeMorales.HomePage.T-Online.de/
  18. Hi Jiulio, please, let me close this Post by myself: 1) I do not know why the last one was repeated twice, as I click "submit" only one time. 2) I have found a still opened Feature Request (artf1526), which give me the response to my Questions. 3) I hoppe, somebody develops the solution for iReport, as soon as possible. 4) That solution would be sure used from lot of persons, who never received an answer. 5) If somebody could give us an intermediate solution for "no Java-Programmers", i.e. the code for the master- and sub-Reports (without using iReport to compile and run), would be very helpful for all of us. 6) The Subject "Subreport and Chart, using subDataset, with different DataSource than the Master" seems to be very important. Many thanks in advance, Jorge
  19. Hi again, I suppose, my question was not understood. I clear it! I use iReport, not being a Java-Programmer. I need only to know, how to solve the following Problem: 1) I create a subReport (i.e. subReport.jrxml), containing only a Table (i.e. using the pageHeader and detail Bands), coming from a CsvDataSource (i.e. $P{SUBREPORT_DIR} + "tables.csv"). 2) I use iReport to run it, making the connection (i.e. "csvTables") to that CsvDataSource. The "get fields from datasource" gives the right output and (i.e. with the active connection) the Table ist seen correctly onto the JRViewer. Till now, everything is running! 3) I create a mainReport (i.e. mainReport.jrxml, evrything on the same subdirectory) und I want to link the subReport, having another active connection (i.e. also to a csvDataSource, to be used on the mainReport). I put the subReport-call onto the summary Band and I set the "use an existing report" to the right "subReport.jrxml"-File. I click "Next", then I do not know any more, what should I type on the "Use a JRDataSource"-Field. That is the beginning of my Problem. Now, what should I do here and on the next Steps, to run this mainReport and subReport together? 4) I need also to create a Pie-Chart on the "title"-Band of the mainReport, using another CsvDataSource (i.e. csvChart.csv). How should I define the subDataSet and other Parameters, and so on? Please understand, I have read all the Posts related with this Subject and I have not found any concrete procedure for these purposes. I hoppe, I receive Help on this and I thank you for your effort to understand this question. Many thanks in advance, Jorge

  21. Hi everybody, I have read the last year Posts and found, that my problem has an Answer, but it was never described. Problem: I call a Chart and a SubReport from a main Report and I need to use three different CSV-Files, one for each of them. Solution: I must give "iReport" the right DataSource Expressions for each. Those Expressions are: 1) (net.sf.jasperreports.engine.data.JRCsvDataSource)$P{<Parameter Name>}) 2) it.businesslogic.ireport.util.Misc.getConnection("<Connection Name>") 3) new JRCsvDataSource(new File($P{SUBREPORT_DIR} + "dataFile.csv")) Please, let me know "which one where". Many thanks, Jorge
  22. Hello Giulio, many thanks for your answer. We hoppe, somebody integrates all JFreeCharts (we need mainly the gantts) into iReport, as soon as possible! Have a nice time, Jorge
  23. Nice to meet you, we have payed and installed the last Versions of Jasper Reports (1.2.5), JFreeCharts (1.0.1) and iReport (1.2.5). We are normal users, not developers, and we are very happy to find and use your Products for our purposes (to have dynamic Reports). We know, we do not need to compile iReport to use it, but we tryed preventive to do it, having the following problem (please, see also the attached text-file): [javac] bad class file: C:iReport-1.2.5libjpa.jar(javax/persistence/EntityManager.class) [javac] class file has wrong version 49.0, should be 48.0 We are also interested to have, not only the 12 Charts already existent, but to use all Charts included with JFreeCharts. We have seen, there is a Feature Request submitted by Tim Cloonan (artf 1303 "Incorporation of Gantt Report", still open) which would help us a lot. Please, let us know a little more about both Subjects. Many thanks, Jorge [file name=iReport_V1.txt size=2357]http://www.jasperforge.org/components/com_joomlaboard/uploaded/files/iReport_V1.txt[/file]
