Thanks, but HOW can I put this band into my report, and in which report-section I can put this band ?

In iReport 2.0.4 is a function called 'no-data section'. How does it works correctly? Many thanks in advance. R. Zimmer

I think you have to try something like that in the expression of the textfield: "XXX-XX-" + $F{SSN}.substring(8,10)
