Sponsored by: TalendOpen-Source BI Moving Beyond SMB?
Even the skeptical analysts these days admit that open-source technology presents a viable alternative to otherwise expensive enterprise software. Combine that shift with the continuing economic pressures that abound, and some open-source advocates say the perfect storm has assembled to fuel their mission. Are they right? Tune into this episode of DM Radio to find out! We'll talk to Boris Evelson of Forrester, plus several open-source leaders, including Yves de Montchieul of Talend, Richard Daley of Pentaho, Nick Halsey of Jaspersoft and Ilan Sehayek of Jitterbit. Attendees will learn: Just how mature the open-source market has become; An overview of the open-source offerings now available; Which questions to ask when reviewing open-source technology; What kind of corporate cultures embrace open-source; What sort of hidden costs might be lurking around the corner.

Hi Kynx,
Yes, I can remove the account if you want, but you should not be getting the messages anymore.
Sorry for the trouble caused. When we updated our system on 4/20 we introduced a problem with unwanted mails going to members. This has been corrected.
With the new system you have two ways to get forum updates - either using the mailing list option under the My Page to get all updates on all issues to forums or other tools. Or, you can subscribe to an individual thread.
And, the mail text to say how to unsubscribe is from the thread is in the process of being corrected.
Again, sorry for the trouble and let me know if you get any unwanted mails from our system.

Hi Jan,
Search is a bit challenged at the moment, and we're sorry for that. We have a pending update to the site that includes Google search along with other very cool, very powerful new search capabilities. I hope you'll be really pleased. We'll publish details and timeline for the update very soon.
For now, "Search Forum" in the upper right of the forum area searches for the phrase. Select "Advanced Search" and enter the search words, the search is performed for the individual words.
I noticed at the site level that search with a scope of forums searches for the phrase.
Let me know if you're still running into issues and I can perform your search using the new search routine and get you the results.
Thanks,
Tim

Hi Olivier,
Thanks for the feedback, it is really helpful and we appreciate it.
We've added links on the 'how to report a bug' page to the various project trackers. All work on the site is done in a project context with JasperReports, iReport, JasperServer & JasperAnalysis, and JasperETL being our major core projects. Each project has a set of tools specific to that project and some projects (like JasperReports or iReport) are a lot more active than some of the smaller projects. Project tools typically include forums, issue tracker, wiki, document sharing, and a file release area, although project admins can turn tools on or off as needed.
From your My Page, if you select My Lists you'll get a list of projects that you can monitor. If you select a project name, you'll be presented with a list of the mailing lists for that project and you can select "subscribe" to receive email notifications for every action taken on the tool in that project. We're looking to replace mailing lists with RSS feeds in our next release and would be interested to have input on monitoring preference from the community; email, RSS, or both.
Alternatively, you can select 'save and monitor' when placing a forum post to receive an email notification anytime a reply is posted to that specific thread.
Agreed on the registration form, we have a lighter weight version of the registration process that should make it easier to negotiate. I anticipate that will hit the site in January.
Again, thank you for the feedback.
Tim
